RU Advertising has been selected as one of 18 heroes including 5 regional & 13 city participants to feature in Energise Enterprise Victoria's Small Business Festival 'The Designer'. This photographic exhibition showcases the State's creative & innovative design-based businesses & will be on display during August 6-14, 2010 at Federation Square in Melbourne in conjunction with a trade fair on August 13 and display of the exhibition later in Traralgon, Victoria.

It is with a touch of sadness but loads of congratulations we farewell RU Advertising’s much loved and respected, General Manager, Elise Middleton.
Elise is fulfilling her personal dreams of motherhood not with one bundle of joy, no this multi-tasking guru who does nothing by halves has two on the way! We wish Elise and Greg all the best on the upcoming arrival of their identical twins and the exciting journey ahead.
Such the calibre of Elise, her role of General Manager has been divided five ways with Jamie Gepp appointed as the National Telstra Association Account Manager; Melissa Polkinghorne will combine her current business development role with account management of PETstock and other key accounts including sponsorships; whilst Bridget Ashley has been appointed as the newest addition to our team taking over as Account Manager for Elise’s other valued clientele.
Supported by Melissa Polkinghorne, RU Advertising’s financial controller, Luke Archibald will now manage the finance area in its entirety and Kaitlyn Schiltz who successfully completed her Certificate III in Business in April, 2010 will become a key team player in her Reception and Sales/Finance support role.
Ballarat Lifestyle Magazine Account Manager/Graphic Designer, Amy Maher will also provide marketing support to Managing Director, Craig Willian who will continue to manage a small client base for RU Advertising and the day to day running of the organisation.
Elise’s team spirit combined with her bright and bubbly personality, ability to get the job done efficiently and accurately with high end creativity and attention to detail will be missed in the interim, we look forward to welcoming her back to the team in 12 months time. Elise is highly confident in the new personnel and has spent long hours ensuring all her existing clients advertising and marketing needs are covered.
The creative team remains unchanged with Emily French, Production Manager/Senior Designer leading a dynamic team of design professionals.

Amy Maher has joined RU Advertising after graduating from the University of Ballarat with a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Graphic Design and Multimedia. Her aptitude for customer service, a vivacious approach and enthusiasm has led to her appointment as leading Account Executive and Graphic Designer for Ballarat Lifestyle Magazine.
Amy’s main responsibility will be securing advertisers for the magazine, whilst also working closely with clients to produce creative artwork that will appeal to the local community in particular the magazine’s target audience of people 25+. Amy will also provide marketing support services to RU Advertising’s key account executives.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the formation of Queen, the Art Gallery of Ballarat will open its doors on Saturday 20 February to launch Queen - the Unseen Archive. The exhibition will feature 70 signed, limited-edition intimate photographs taken by their head of road crew Peter Hince, along with clothing, memorabilia and personal items sourced from private collections worldwide. RU Advertising supported the annual St. John of God Ballarat Medi-Marathon on Sunday, September 20. The run is a loop course of Lake Wendouree incorporating the Moneghetti track and the inside lane of Wendouree Parade. It is a fantastic course not only for participants but for spectators as well. The Medi Marathon is a great opportunity for participants to join in the spirit of the event, whilst increasing their health and fitness. Congratulations to Bartlett Blinds for recently launching their famous penguin mascot in Melbourne. RU Advertising coordinated a new animated commercial and television media campaign promoting the presence of Bartlett Blinds at the Melbourne Home Show. Marketing Co-ordinator, Matt Brown said “The TV campaign allowed us to launch the Bartlett Blinds penguin to the metropolitan market and build our brand in Melbourne. Our enquiry rate in the lead up to the show increased greatly from the metropolitan area which flowed on to a very successful show. Overall, the TV campaign combined with the Herald Sun Home Show resulted in over 100 quotes for us and our authorised Bartlett Blinds agents."

RU Advertising is a finalist in two categories of the 2009 CGU Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Awards. RU Advertising was acknowledged as a finalist for the Commerce Ballarat B2B – Business to Ballarat and Highlands Regional Waste Management Group Towards Zero Waste awards at the official announcement of finalists at the North Ballarat Sports Club. A gala event to announce the winners in each category will be held on August 27 – fingers crossed! RU Advertising was a finalist of the Action Ads Service Business category in 2006 and successfully won the PowerFM Service Business Award last year. Congratulations to all finalists.

The RU Advertising service team enjoyed lunch with Harold Mitchell – Chairman of Mitchell and Partners, the largest media agency in Australia and also Executive Chairman of Mitchell Communications Group, Australia’s largest planner and buyer of advertising. Craig Willian, Lyle Dean, Elise Middleton and Renee Clohesy listened to his positive outlook on the economic future of our region on July 28 at Heritage on Lydiard in Ballarat and gained great insights into the Australian advertising industry.
